"The Artist"

I meant to go see this over Christmas break. And then once school started. And hello it's almost February.

Better late than never.

Is tomorrow too soon to see it again?

I laughed. I cried. I even managed to almost ignore obnoxious movie patrons.

What an unexpected gem! I loved the hidden-in-plain-sight moments of this film. It was, almost without exception, the best movie I've seen this century!

I laughed from sheer joie de vivre! I cried because I loved his damned little dog so much! I have used so many exclamation marks!!!

My next quilt project

Okay, maybe not my *next* project. I have 100000000 bee blocks I'm behind on. An iPad case I've been meaning to make for weeks. And I really need to finish the sewing room clean out I started, in earnest, over break.

But.

Ohmygosh.

!!!!!!

Am I the last person on earth to see this?!

I want to make 10000000000000000 of these blocks. little miss shabby, you're a genius!

And I have some Heather Ross fabric that needs to come out of the stash/hoard.

Exercise your democratic voice tomorrow!

I am a proud Etsy seller (since 2009!) and member of the most awesome street team, Etsy Dallas.

Etsy is taking a strong stand against two proposed pieces of legislation that seem like they would be beneficial but instead could threaten my bottom line and your ability to support the handmade movement....not to mention free speech.

Learn more. Educate yourself. Don't take anyone else's word for it.

Who wore it best: crown jewels edition

Via

My vote?

Top center for overall best tiara (worst tiara earring combo, though).

Bottom left for overall best look.

Top right for overall fab. I mean, it's practically a diamond headband. What's more fab than that?

Flashbacks

It's unexpectedly chilly here tonight. (Where's my coat?!)

Maybe I'm daydreaming about summer....

Wishing you daydreams of gardens and fluffy clouds...

Do you Clibe?

Check out this application on the App Store:

It's totally rad. Private, public, and invite-only settings make this the coolest free app! Great for digital scrapbooking, doodling, journaling, what-have-you!

Find me! And expect sparkles, snippets of (bad) poetry, pretty things, and (pretty ridiculous) musings...

iPad2 cases: so much fab out there!

So I've purchased darling Ruby Star fabric to make my iPad a little cozy.

It's so cute! I love the idea of covering a newfangled gadget with "old fashioned" technology. But then mass marketing reminds me of all this other awesome stuff out there! How can I resist the P&P iPad case from Uncommon Goods?

Or this BookBook beauty I loved eons before I had an iPad?

And don't forget I blogged about these JCrew lovelies before Christmas when I was putting the iPad on my Christmas wish list.

They still have my two favorite prints in stock!

I just can't make up my mind. But, since they're all over $70, it looks like my handmade cozy will be the winner. Now to start dreaming about the case for my as-yet-to-happen iPhone upgrade...

Nook Book Daily Find

Today's Nook Book DF is a gem! Run, don't walk, to purchase The Winter Sea if you love a good yarn. (If you don't have a nook, consider downloading the Nook app (it's free!) for your iPad or iPhone.)

I checked out this gorgeously constructed novel a few months ago from the Dallas Public Library. I lamented then that my borrowing ways meant I'd never own this particular book. (As of 6:59am today, though, I do!)

Check out my Book Report Review of Kearsley's novel.

First day of 2012 .... And I feel fine!

While 2012 is touted to be the end of the world as we know it, it started out jussssst fine! 1. Resolutions (personal & professional) mulled over. 2. Biscuits and gravy breakfast celebration. 3. A triumphant return to bed after breakfast with a book...ok a nook. 4. Sockbun experiment gone awry. But fun to try. 5. Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit at the DMA with fellow Etsy Dallas member La Alicia. 6. Another triumphant return to bed with the nook. 7. Dinner awesomeness where I was seated next to couple on blind date. Unobtrusive eavesdropping gold mine! 8. Mrs. Fields cookie dough truffle devils consumed. 9. More fun with the iPad. 10. A final triumphant return to bed with the nook. This time with an electric blanket and intent to dream of all the joy the rest of this year will bring me.
