Perfect makeup: Bobbi Brown

Making nude and natural look fabulous for how many years? Bobbi Brown is a genius.

I wish that I could achieve this look that popped up in my email today:

Except that brightening finishing powder that looks so dreamy on our email model here would just end up making me look like an even bigger greasy mess.

Can you spot the face in that jar of BB?

Hehe. Made me laugh.

Perhaps I'll break down and order a whole mess of makeup, after all, because it's really hard to resist Neiman Marcus beauty bags!

Monograms and Manicures' 4th Annual Pink Swap

This was my 2nd year to do Hopsy's Pink Swap, and this year, I was paired with Erin, a sweet blogger (and fellow teacher!) from Alabama.

This is Erin with her honey at an Alabama game. (Let us not forget the Michigan season opener against Alabama at Cowboys Stadium this fall...this pink swap is turning fierce!) Make sure to click to learn more about Erin, y'all.

So. I know you're dying to see the goodies I got! A USPS medium flat rate box full of delicious pink: stationery, lip balm, nail polish, votives, a monogrammed cup, my fave pink pens, and a gorgeous scarf!

So many fab pink pretties...my naked neck has a new wrap. I kind of like how I knotted it up like a pretzel.  Or a four-leaf clover. Fancy!

Thank you, Erin! I love my swap swag and am so glad I got to " meet" you!

"The Artist"

I meant to go see this over Christmas break. And then once school started. And hello it's almost February.

Better late than never.

Is tomorrow too soon to see it again?

I laughed. I cried. I even managed to almost ignore obnoxious movie patrons.

What an unexpected gem! I loved the hidden-in-plain-sight moments of this film. It was, almost without exception, the best movie I've seen this century!

I laughed from sheer joie de vivre! I cried because I loved his damned little dog so much! I have used so many exclamation marks!!!

My next quilt project

Okay, maybe not my *next* project. I have 100000000 bee blocks I'm behind on. An iPad case I've been meaning to make for weeks. And I really need to finish the sewing room clean out I started, in earnest, over break.

But.

Ohmygosh.

!!!!!!

Am I the last person on earth to see this?!

I want to make 10000000000000000 of these blocks. little miss shabby, you're a genius!

And I have some Heather Ross fabric that needs to come out of the stash/hoard.

Exercise your democratic voice tomorrow!

I am a proud Etsy seller (since 2009!) and member of the most awesome street team, Etsy Dallas.

Etsy is taking a strong stand against two proposed pieces of legislation that seem like they would be beneficial but instead could threaten my bottom line and your ability to support the handmade movement....not to mention free speech.

Learn more. Educate yourself. Don't take anyone else's word for it.
